About Matayos Constituency NG-CDF

Hon. Geoffrey Odanga (ODM) serves as the Member of Parliament representing Matayos Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya. Matayos is located in Western Kenya, It covers an area of 196.2 square kilometres It is one of the 7 constituencies of Busia County. Matayos Constituency is administered under Busia Sub County with a Deputy County Commissioner who sits at the County Commissioners Office at Busia town. Presently the Constituency has 3 divisions, 13 locations, and 33 sub-locations. There are five electoral wards in Matayos. These include: Bukhayo West, Matayos South, Busibwabo, Burumba and Mayenje. Matayos Constituency lies between latitude 0º and 0º 45 North and longitude 34º 24 east. The constituency borders Nambale to the east, Butula to the south, Teso North to the north, Funyula and Busia Uganda to the west. PHYSICAL AND TOPOGRAPHIC FEATURES Most parts of Matayos Constituency fall within the Lake Victoria Basin. Appointed pursuant to Section 25 of the NG-CDF Act, 2015 to oversee prudent public financial management, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance for development projects in Matayos Constituency.
